ONT Farm Market News PM Livestock Summary for September 1
Here is the Country Auction Report as collected by the Beef Farmers of
Ontario Thursday.
FED CATTLE: There were 560 head on offer at OLEX and Brussels. At
OLEX, fed steers and heifers sold at steady prices. Cows sold on a strong
demand at prices fully steady to Tuesdays higher market. At Brussels, veal
sold steady to stronger.
Large Steers:$185.00 - $188.50
Large Heifers:$179.00 - $184.50
Cows:$102.00 - $130.00
Veal over 450 lbs:$175.00 - $204.00
* REPLACEMENT CATTLE: There were 231 head on offer at the Ontario
Stockyards. A lighter run of stockers with some buyers celebrating a
religious holiday. Yearlings sold fully steady to stronger, while a very medium
offering of calves sold steady, with quality considered.
