Canadian Labour Minister Steve MacKinnon announced late Thursday afternoon that the government will get involved in the railway shutdown. Canada's rail shipments were halted early Thursday after Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) and Canadian National (CN) railways locked out union workers.
