MT. JULIET, Tenn. (DTN) -- Commodity prices may be strong, but many of the factors behind them are born from the fires of chaos and uncertainty.

The war between Russia and Ukraine has tightened global energy supplies, forcing the price of many farm inputs higher. Lingering supply chain impacts have made it harder to source parts and chemistry. Mother Nature served up drought, deluge and everything in between. The Federal Reserve is raising interest rates to tamp down inflation, but whether it triggers an economic recession is yet to be seen.

That's why the 2022 DTN Virtual Ag Summit's theme is "Conquer the Chaos: Strategies to Build Endurance for Your Business."

"This year's theme hits on where we stand today. Given world events, a contentious midterm election, a potential third year of La Nina weather conditions, the best catchword for that is 'chaos.' Our Summit presentations will be all about helping farmers endure and grow through those issues," DTN Editor-In-Chief Greg Horstmeier said.

This year's event will be held virtually on the mornings of Dec. 12 and 13. You can find information on how to register at www.dtn.com/agsummit.

"Our DTN Ag Summit has grown to become the thinking person's ag event, with a focus on presentations from new voices and fresh views on the factors influencing the farming and ranching industries," Horstmeier said. "What we've continued to hear, though, is the number of readers who for various reasons can't make it to a physical meeting in December. So, we're answering that demand this year, focusing on a virtual event with a top-notch group of presenters on critical ag topics."

This year, you'll hear from experts including:

-- CHS Senior Vice President Gary Halvorson, who will discuss how agribusinesses are positioning themselves for success in this new reality and what farmers can do to keep their feet on the ground.

-- Former Republican Senator Pat Roberts and Democratic Representative Collin Peterson, who will draw on their decades of experience crafting farm bills to explain how they see the next Farm Bill coming together.

-- Progressive Farmer's newest class of America's Best Young Farmers and Ranchers on how they're navigating the turbulence of the past few years and positioning themselves for success in the future.

-- DTN Lead Analyst Todd Hultman, DTN Livestock Analyst ShayLe Stewart and DTN Ag Meteorologist John Baranick, who will share their outlooks for 2023.

We'll also have sessions dedicated to simplifying the carbon credit landscape, optimizing a family business and more. Expect a streamlined experience that you can enjoy without the hassles or expense of travel. We look forward to seeing you there.
