New showlists appear to be mixed, higher in Nebraska/Colorado, but lower in Kansas and Texas. Today's slaughter totaled 124,000 head, 5,000 more than last week, and 7,000 greater than a year ago. Cattle futures closed modestly to moderately lower on both live (off 17 to 82) and feeder (off 12 to 75) contracts. Beef cutouts are expected to close higher with light to moderate box movement.
