Here is the Country Auction Report as collected by the Beef Farmers of
Ontario Thursday.
FED CATTLE: There were 967 head on offer at OLEX and Brussels. At
OLEX, fed steers and heifers sold at prices $1.00 cwt higher. Cows sold
$1.00 higher on good demand. At Brussels, veal sold on a steady market.
Large Steers:$173.00 - $178.00
Large Heifers:$172.00 - $178.50
Cows:$91.00 - $109.00
Veal over 450 lbs:$155.00 - $215.00
* REPLACEMENT CATTLE: There were 900 head on offer at the Ontario
Stockyards. Top-quality stockers sold fully steady while plainer-type and
non-vaccinated cattle sold easier.
