ONT Farm Market News PM Livestock Summary for August 4
Here is the Country Auction Report as collected by the Beef Farmers of
Ontario Thursday.
FED CATTLE: There were 595 head on offer at OLEX and Brussels. At
OLEX, fed steers and heifers sold on a steady market. Cows sold actively at
higher prices. At Brussels, veal sold on a strong, active trade with prices
$3.00-$5.00 cwt higher. Beef veal sold steady, with quality considered.
Large Steers:$184.00 - $187.00
Large Heifers:$183.00 - $188.00
Cows:$104.00 - $127.00
Veal over 450 lbs:$154.00 - $191.00
* REPLACEMENT CATTLE: There were 345 head on offer at the Ontario
Stockyards. Calves sold at sharply stronger prices. Yearlings sold steady to
stronger.
Large & Medium Steers over 900 lbs:$178.64 - $202.62
Large & Medium Steers 700-800 lbs:$212.50 - $260.00
