ONT Farm Market News PM Livestock Summary for September 29
Here is the Country Auction Report as collected by the Beef Farmers of
Ontario Thursday.
FED CATTLE: There were 690 head on offer at OLEX and Brussels. Fed
steers and heifers sold at firm prices. Cows sold on a good demand at
stronger prices. At Brussels, veal sold actively at higher prices.
Large Steers:$178.00 - $183.00
Large Heifers:$176.00 - $182.25
Cows:$104.00 - $129.00
Veal over 450 lbs:$201.00 - $230.00
* REPLACEMENT CATTLE: There were 1,050 head on offer at the Ontario
Stockyards. Yearlings traded very actively on a strong market, with yearling
heifers bringing premiums. A medium cut of calves sold fully steady, with
quality considered.
